HDR Photography

April 27th, 2009

Ok. I am hooked.  I have absolutely fallen in love with HDR photography (High Dynamic Range) and will be using it more and more in my commercial photography.  The look and feel of HDR images when done correctly is just amazing.

HDR (High Dynamic Range or HDRi High Dynamic Range Imaging) is:

Aa set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows.

It is essenentally merging several Low Dynamic Range Images (LDR) of different exposure  a far greater tonal range in the final image.

All Thats Left (LDR)

Most of the HDR images that I have created are from at least 7 source images although HDR can be done with 3 source images.  Using HDR techniques Image Fusion Studio can create and deliver stunning  images for our commercial photography clients.

Please take a look at these great images and tell me what you think !
